E.E. Reed Construction wins 2017 NAIOP Award
E.E. Reed is proud to be recognized by Northern Virginia NAIOP at their Annual Award of Excellence Gala in the Category of Build-to-Suit Institutional Facility Under $30 Million. E.E. Reed took home the Award of Merit for the George Mason Potomac Science Center. The Project consists of 52,920 SF Office and Lab building space including an Exhibit Hall, Lecture Hall and Classrooms, Research Labs, Teaching Labs, and Offices to house the Department of Geoinformatics and the Potomac Environmental Research and Education Center (PEREC) of George Mason University. The building interior features LEED certified products and a DOAS HVAC system which contribute to the LEED Silver goal. Exterior features include a ventilated Ultra High Density concrete panel system, brick veneer, curtainwall and glazing systems and a feature metal panel system. An expansive boardwalk wrapping the eastern and northern faces of the building, as well as a stationary and floating dock, allow visitors and researchers access to the pond and Potomac River that border the site. The project also includes a new 200 space precast parking garage. E.E. Reed is so honored to have been a part of this amazing project and take home this award!
